CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT · CLIENT–SERVER
Set rules once. Apply them across the classroom.
Keep track of students’ work
View connected computers’ screens to follow students’ progress. Follow the progress of anyone who needs help and guide them through the task. Temporarily lock workstations when you need everyone’s attention. Mute client computers to avoid disrupting the lesson and turn sound back on when needed.
Manage the classroom from one place
Set rules on the teacher’s computer and send them to connected clients. Check installed programs and running processes, update WinPCGuard on client computers or shut down the classroom after a lesson. The teacher’s computer can act as the server.
Help students directly on their computers
Take remote control of a student's computer on the network and use your mouse and keyboard to help with an assignment or a setting. Demonstrate each step directly on their screen.
PRESENTATION TOOL · CLIENT–SERVER
Demonstrate a task to the whole class
Share your screen with students while explaining a topic or demonstrating a task. You can also show a student’s work: view their desktop on the teacher’s computer, then share it with the others using the presentation tool. The class can follow solutions and practical examples together.
One place for presentations and network management.
Internet access restrictions
WinPCGuard lets you block internet access, block selected websites or allow only approved websites. You can schedule internet access. You can also prevent users from downloading files.
Protect computers from unwanted changes
Prevent programs from being installed or uninstalled, restrict which applications can run and schedule their use. Restrict access to Windows settings and USB devices, and see which folders and documents have been opened. Protect the desktop background and desktop items from changes, keeping computers ready for the next class.
Launch programs remotely
Launch an application, open a document or open a website directly on students’ computers. Simply enter the address so students do not need to find or type it themselves. This works similarly to the Windows Run command and can be used on selected client computers.
Distribute assignments and collect the results
Send assignment files directly to students’ computers and collect their completed files from the clients. Send instructions or reminders as messages displayed on their screens.

Frequently asked questions for schools
Do we need a dedicated physical server?
No. A teacher’s computer, for example, can act as the server. Other computers running WinPCGuard connect to it as clients.
Does each computer need to be registered separately?
No. Enter the registration details on the server under About WinPCGuard. Clients connected to the server register automatically.
Can I shut down all classroom computers at once?
Yes. Select the connected computers in the Clients window and send the shutdown command. You can also restart computers or log users off. Remind students to save their files before ending the session.
Can I update WinPCGuard on client computers remotely?
Yes. On the teacher’s computer, select the installer for a newer version of WinPCGuard and the connected clients to update. WinPCGuard must already be installed on those computers.
Can I show one student’s work to the whole class?
Yes. First view the student’s desktop on the teacher’s computer. Then share your desktop with the other clients using the presentation tool so everyone can see the student’s work.
How do I distribute assignments and collect completed files?
Select the computers in the Clients window and send the assignment files. Collect the completed work using the file collection or remote folder download features.
Do I need to configure rules on each computer separately?
No. Prepare the settings on the server, for example the teacher’s computer, and send them to connected clients.
Can teachers view students’ screens?
Yes. From the server, teachers can view the desktops of connected client computers and see what students are working on.
Can we restrict internet access and applications?
Yes. You can set internet access rules, filter websites and restrict application launches. Rules can also follow a schedule.
Can teachers share their screen with students?
Yes. The presentation tool shares the server’s desktop with connected client computers.
Can I also control a student's computer remotely?
Yes. From the teacher's computer, you can use your mouse and keyboard to control a connected client computer on the network and help the student directly on their desktop.
